Studies of Strange Things is a project title for series of illustrations and small studies. I’ve exhibited select pieces from the series at Northampton School of the Arts and at the OXO tower in London. The illustrations were inspired by a Japanese folk tale taken from the book Kwaidan by Lafcadio Hearn. The book is a collection of folk tales, ghost stories and some descriptions of insects published in 1904. The narrative inspired me to create the mountainous and forest landscapes, where goblin foxes and furry things are said to dwell.
